Aguia was incorporated on 31 October 2007 for the purpose of exploration, development and investment in resource opportunities. On 27 November 2007 a joint venture agreement was signed between Newport, PlatSearch NL and Bohuon Resources Pty Ltd for the Pathfinder Project comprising South Australian exploration licences 3216, 3280 and 3281.
