Beaconsfield Gold reported a consolidated net profit after tax of $9.1 million (2008: $33.0 million loss) for the 2009 financial year. This substantial turnaround reflects the first year of full production at the Tasmania Mine and follows three years of losses. Revenue increased to $85.3 million (2008: $31.4 million) reflecting increased production in 2009 of 70,178 ounces (2008: 33,570 ounces) and higher gold prices. The average gold price realised for the year of A$1,182 per ounce was 29% higher than for the 2008 year. The group closed out all of its hedge commitments in 2008 and remains unhedged.
