Developing Advanced Tungsten/Molybdenum Resources in Canada
Geodex Minerals Ltd. (TSX.V: GXM) is a Canadian based resource company with a focus on the exploration and development of tin, tungsten molybdenum and indium deposits in New Brunswick. The Company's flagship property is Sisson Brook which contains a large open-pittable tungsten/molybdenum deposit. Geodex is also considered the world's largest land holder of premium indium exploration properties due to the ownership of their second property, the rich Mount Pleasant Camp.
Sisson Brook
Located north of Fredericton, New Brunswick, the Sisson Brook deposit is Geodex's flagship property. It has advanced to scoping and development stages in 2007. A program of 7,500 metres of drilling was completed in 2006 which greatly expanded the deposit in all directions and formed the basis of the N.I. 43-101-compliant 'Inferred Resource' study which was received in March 2007. Further drilling on Zone III upgraded resources in October 2007.
- 290 million tonnes of 43-101 compliant inferred resources at 0.025% cutoff
- 128 million pounds Molybdenum
- 378 million pounds Tungsten
- 20,000 m infill drilling program and full engineering program underway
- Full Sisson Brook Scoping Study: Q4 2007
- Open pit development with rail and hydro across property and excellent road access
- $5 Million budgeted for Sisson Brook pre-feasibility work in 2007
Mount Pleasant West
The Mount Pleasant West project is a general name for the group of properties controlled by Geodex which lie within a 10 km by 20 km package of claims surrounding the former Mount Pleasant mine (not owned by Geodex) in the southwestern part of New Brunswick. It is therefore well located in relation to access and population centres. The Mount Pleasant mine is a very significant indium resource and one of the few in the world which could form a stand-alone indium mine.
- Two new discoveries, Pughole-Whopper and McDougall Inlet (assays pending)
- 2,500 m drill program on five target areas completed last winter. Significant results from drilling at the Pughole-Whopper zone include:
- 31.7 metres of 62.81 g/t indium and 2.8% zinc
- 10.23 metres of 3.45% zinc and 128.64 g/t indium
- Price of Indium has increased from US$70/kilo in 2001 to over US$1000/kilo in 2006
- Billiton Exploration Canada Ltd. produced at Mt Pleasant (W, Mo) at a design rate of 650,000 tonnes/year from 1983-1985. The existing mine-site has hydro, buildings and tailings facilities.
- Teck Cominco has an option to acquire a 51% interest in Mount Pleasant West by spending $6.5 million on exploration over four years
