Gitennes Exploration Inc. (GIT:TSXV)) is based in Vancouver and has been in the business of mineral exploration and discovery for eighteen years. Gitennes is known for its dedicated management, principled Board, and its earnest and thoughtful approach to the science of discovering new ore deposits. As an established, listed company in a field flooded with juniors vying for investor attention and money, Gitennes has a reputation for tackling grassroots projects with a cost-effective approach to exploration and development. Gitennes is willing to bring its geological knowledge and experience to bear on complex styles of mineralization and novel geological settings that might represent new types of ore deposits - be there first, be there best! Always looking for new frontiers, the Company is not focused on any single mineral commodity, preferring instead to search for signs of mineralization that display the size and scope of an economically viable deposit with both strong grades and important-sized tonnage.
Gitennes is currently working on two continents in three countries. Our country-wide work in Peru has been curtailed, but we maintain one strong project - the Urumalqui Gold and Silver Property. This is an occurrence of multiple quartz veins with gold and silver that has been successfully drilled in four campaigns. The project in now being funded by AndeanGold Ltd. who will earn a 60% interest once they drill 7,000 metres and invest $3,000,000. AndeanGold has recently completed a programme of drilling and has commissioned an independent engineering study that will result in the first-ever resource estimates for one of the veins. With time and more work we hope to see other zones brought into the resource-base. Based upon the seventy-eight holes completed to date we are seeing a continuously mineralized structure that is three metres wide, 1,600 metres long and goes at least 200 metres deep. The zone is open to expansion, which will become a priority after the first economic assessment is finished. The new resource modeling will likely look at a range of grade possibilities as our earlier work (done at much lower bullion prices!) sought to maintain an average grade of 210 grams/tonne silver (6 ounces per tonne) and 1.5 grams per ton gold.
In North America Gitennes has two projects in Nevada and two in British Columbia. In Nevada we have an option on the Silver King Gold-Copper Property and the Cross Gold Claims. Both have been partially explored before, but neither has had sustained exploration by one group of geologists. Silver King has indications of a thick, plate-like body of copper mineralization 200 metres below an abandoned silver mine. It can only be tested by drilling and geophysics, but it is in easily accessible terrain and not far from Ely, the site of Nevada's largest copper mine. We hope that Gitennes will result in new discoveries - after all Nevada remains a great place to find mines.
In British Columbia we have option agreements on the Keg Porphyry Copper-Gold Target and the Riddle Rare Earth - Copper Property. Both are very early stage and require systematic exploration by geologists with inquisitive minds and state-of-the-art technology. At Riddle boot and hammer prospecting is finding new mineralization, and the Company expects to talk more about this project in the coming months as analytical results are received and additional field work yield targets that reveal its potential. Historical work here was for gold, but that work found rare earths at a time when nobody appreciated how important they would become to our society and its hunger for new technologies. Gitennes took the property on because it is interested in rare earth deposits, but their presence here is likely an indication that the conditions could be right for other metals, and so we are exploring Riddle with our eyes and minds wide open.
During its time Gitennes has explored from the high Arctic in Canada to the jungles of Peru. We have experience in rocks of all ages, in the stable Canadian Shield to steaming volcanoes in the highest Andes, and have found and proved deposits of gold, silver, copper and zinc.
