Guyana Goldfields Inc. (TSX.GUY) (“GUY”) is a well-financed Canadian-based junior mineral company focused on the exploration and development of gold deposits in the well-known Guiana Shield in South America with a land position totaling 350,000 acres. The Company is currently undertaking technical studies to advance and develop its 100% interest in the Aurora Gold Project in Guyana.

Company NewsTuesday, October 20, 2009 Guyana Goldfields Inc. reports the acquisition of three contiguous groups of properties in Guyana totaling approximately 79,000 acres. The newly acquired area has a long history of gold production dating back ninety years. Furthermore, the properties are contiguous to the company's current holdings in the Aranka district. Company geologists have so far identified two areas for immediate follow up exploration work including diamond drilling.
