Jabiru Metals Limited advises that on Sunday 8 November, a piece of shotcrete detached from the upper area of the Jaguar main ventilation shaft and fell to the bottom, approximately 330m below. The material contacted the escape way ladder system and damaged the protective caging. No persons were in the vicinity and the ladder system was subsequently assessed and is trafficable with minor repairs. As a precaution, a programme of works to prevent similar incidents will commence without delay. It is expected that the rectification works will be completed in the next 4 weeks, during which ore will be sourced from development rather than stoping. Concentrate shipping schedules over the next two month should not be affected.
