Maxxam, Inc. is a holding company that operates in four principal industries: aluminum, through its 63% owned subsidiary, Kaiser Aluminum Corporation, an integrated aluminum producer; forest products, through Maxxam Group, Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiaries, principally The Pacific Lumber Company and Britt Lumber Co., Inc.; real estate investment and development, managed through its wholly owned subsidiary, Maxxam Property Company; and racing operations through Sam Houston Race Park, Ltd., a limited partnership, in which the Company owned a 98.2% interest.
