Scorpio Mining announced highlights of past drilling on the San Rafael and El Cajon deposits at the La Verde project, which is 100% owned by Platte River Gold Inc. Highlights from the drilling include an intersection of 17.8 m grading 485 g/t silver, 2.13% copper and 1.090 g/t gold from drill hole EC21 which was drilled on the El Cajon deposit. Drill hole SR 195 drilled on the San Rafael deposit intersected 7.5 m grading 426 g/t silver, 1.24% lead, 5.15% zinc, 1.12% copper and 0.543 g/t gold. Scorpio recently announced a proposed business combination with Platte River involving the issue of 74.8 million shares of the company. The transaction remains subject to due diligence, definitive documentation and regulatory and shareholder approvals.
