East Asia Minerals (TSX-V: EAS) is a well-financed, Asian-based, Canadian mineral exploration company with an aggressive exploration, acquisition and growth strategy.
In Indonesia the Company has a 70 to 85% interest in six advanced gold and gold-copper properties located in Aceh Province, Sumatra, and Sangihe Island, North Sulawesi. During 2008, two of these, the Sangihe (Binebase-Bawone) and Barisan 1 (Abong) gold projects were resource drilled to define NI43-101 compliant resources, expected to be calculated in 2009. East Asia Minerals plans to resume drilling on its gold-copper porphyry projects and start drilling its multi-million ounce gold potential Miwah project in 2009.
The Company also owns twelve uranium properties, including the advanced Ingiin-Nars, Ulaan Nuur and Enger uranium projects, four phosphate properties and a 75% interest in the Khok Adar copper oxide discovery in Mongolia.

Company NewsMonday, October 19, 2009 East Asia Minerals Corporation report additional assays from diamond drilling at the Main Miwah Gold Zone in Aceh Province, Northern Sumatra, Indonesia. The gold mineralized intersection is located north of drill hole EMD008, which encountered 2.11 g/t gold over 100 metres, including 4.81 g/t gold over 30 metres. New hole EMD011 ended in mineralization and encountered 1.05 g/t gold over 107.3 metres, including 1.61 g/t gold over 25.5 metres. To date more than 600 metres of strike length have been drill validated by East Asia Minerals, and the drill rig has been moved a further 200 metres to the east where EMD012 is progressing well in visually altered and mineralized rock.
