Exeter is one of the most active gold-silver exploration companies operating in South America. Investor focus is on the very high grade Cerro Moro discovery in Argentina, and the Caspiche gold-copper discovery in Chile.
The Cerro Moro gold-silver deposit is now defined by over 200 drill holes, with three rigs operating through 2008. The Company considers the deposit is part of a multi-million ounce gold system, made remarkable because drilling indicates grades available to open pit mining in the order of one ounce gold per ton. Importantly, the property is within an established mining district with competitor mines owned by AngloGold Ashanti, Pan American Silver, Minera Andes, Hothchildes and Coeur d'Alene Mines.
In Chile, Exeter is undertaking a 35,000 ft. drilling program to follow up on a recent drill hole that recovered 1000 feet of ore grade gold-copper mineralization. The property is situated between the +6 million ounce Refugio Mine (Kinross) and the +20 million ounce Cerro Casals gold-copper project (Barrick-Kinross). Exeter's target is a multi-million ounce gold-copper deposit comparable in size to other deposits in the area.
In addition to these exploration projects, Exeter is working to advance the permitting process on their 1.27 million ounce Don Sixto gold deposit in Mendoza Province, Argentina.
Exeter is clearly not a single project company. Their strategic alliances in South America with AngloGold Ashanti, Anglo American and Rio Tinto Mining secure Exeter a long term presence in South America
