Announced that it was loking for a buyer for the Adelong project. A recent scoping study for the project suggested possible production of over 90,000 oz over three and a half years, generating net cash of $17 million, based on a gold price of A$743 per ounce.
A new conceptual model for the development of the Adelong Project is currently being assessed. It proposes
mining by open-pit methods and using gravity, flotation and heap leach methods for gold recovery. This is in
contrast to previous work which proposed underground mining and conventional CIP extraction.(Oct/05)
In 2004, a revised feasibility study focused on the recovery of gold using flotation followed by intense cyanidation of the concentrate. The flotation-leach process is very costeffective and provides a high gold recovery from a small amount of concentrate. Pyrite content of the ore is low and gold liberates cleanly at a relatively coarse grind size.
