Diamonds North Resources announced the discovery of 21 additional gold target areas on its 100% owned Amaruk property in Nunavut. First pass regional prospecting of an 80 x 80 kilometre area on Amaruk has identified numerous gold occurrences predominantly in the central part of the Amaruk property: 3 regions with assays greater than 1.0 g/T gold, 7 regions with samples yielding 100 ppb to 1.0 g/T gold, 11 regions with elevated gold between 20 and 100 ppb.
Diamonds North Resources Ltd. announces high grade gold assay results from its PB1 Gold prospect on its 100% owned Amaruk
property in Nunavut, Canada. A continuous rock chip sample across an oxidized sulfide zone yielded 9.4 g/T gold over 3 metres. A nearby grab sample of un-oxidized altered Quartz Feldspar Porphyry (QFP) devoid of sulfides contained 24 g/T gold. These samples are follow-up to a 5.8 g/T gold grab sample from the oxide zone reported on May 11, 2009. Diamond processing of the previously reported 6780 kg bulk sample from the Beluga 3 pipe by dense media separation (DMS) is underway. In addition, a
total of 868 kilograms of the newly discovered Kanguq kimberlite was collected from one vertical drill hole for DMS processing. The Kanguq kimberlite is located approximately 10 kilometres north of Beluga–3 and appears to represent a new kimberlite cluster on the Amaruk property.
Diamonds North Resources Ltd. announces the opening of camp on its 100% owned Amaruk property in the Pelly Bay Diamond
District of Nunavut, Canada. Exploration crews have arrived and kimberlite target selection for drilling has begun. More subtle magnetic features will be targeted. The company plans to drill up to 30 kimberlite targets and collect up to a 10 tonne sample from the Beluga-3 kimberlite. In conjunction with the diamond exploration program, the company plans to prospect some of its gold occurrences on the property this summer, with the goal of developing drill targets to be tested later in the season. Crews will complete detailed mapping and prospecting around and along the 3-5 m wide mineralized gold zone that is exposed for approximately 50 metres. the company also reports that based on extensive gold grains recovered from till samples on the Amaruk property, 17 new and separate gold anomalies have been identified.
