Latest Information December 31, 2008 Activities in 2008 brought about the discovery of two platinum enriched zones, namely a 2-4 meter wide platinum and palladium enriched layer, the so-called “Octopus Reef”, along the western flank of the intrusion and a rhodium and platinum enriched zone along the southern marginal zone of the intrusion. Both discoveries confirm that platinum enriched processes have taken place in the Amikoq intrusion. In 2008, it was documented that the Octopus Reef has a surface span of at least 1.3 km. The grades of Octopus Reef so far found on the basis of channel samples of the surface are 0.4-1.0 g/t platinum and palladium. Other discoveries in 2008: The most important discoveries in 2008 were: • A rhodium-enriched zone at the southern margin of the intrusion. • Tectonic repetition may have stacked the platinum-mineralised zones. |
