Atna Resources and Grayd Resource Corporation reported results from the 10,260 ft, 14-hole, diamond drill program on the Dry Creek volcanogenic massive sulphide project, located in the Bonnifield district of Alaska. Twelve drill holes tested the DC North mineralized horizon over a 13,500 ft strike length and the other 2 holes tested a large alteration zone underlying the DC North horizon. Results from drilling along the DC North horizon did not meet Atna's required objectives and Atna has terminated its option to earn an interest in the Dry Creek and Anderson Mountain properties.

Additional drilling was planned. However, the only work completed was the removal of the Virginia Creek camp. In 1998, detailed mapping and sampling, and various geophysical surveys were conducted on the property. Geophysics included Max-min, EM, VLF-EM, and magnetometer surveys totalling 13,400 m. Ten diamond drill holes totalling 1,784 m were also completed, five of which intersected massive sulphide mineralization. In 1997, work consisted of staking additional prospecting sites, geophysical surveys, soil sampling and limited geological investigations. An airborne EM/Mag (SIAL) survey and ground EM survey were conducted. In 1996, work consisted of assessment level exploration and staking prospecting sites along extensions of the massive sulphide horizons. In 1976, a geophysical/geochemical/geological mapping grid was set up. Samples were taken and pits dug. Three drill holes were drilled on the prospect. Hole AM 1 intersected a mafic dyke, Hole AM-2 intersected 1.7 m grading 1.2% copper, 61.4 g/t silver, 2.08% lead and 8.5% zinc. Hole AM-3 returned 0.6 m grading 0.64% copper, 161 g/t silver, 4.8% lead and 22% zinc. In 1975, high grade lead zinc float was discovered.
