Drilling work continued to define the Fortuna vein while permitting and planning are underway. Construction of the access to the Fortuna vein was planned to commence during the fourth quarter of 2006. The underground mine continued to provide ore from the Cerro Martillo, Dorada, Quebrada Colorada and Quebrada Orito structures.

According to an Environmental Impact study for the Project, Minera Meridian planned to carry out a program of surface and underground prospecting. On surface, a RC and diamond drilling program over two zones, North Fortuna and Dominador sector, will be undertaken. Regarding to underground prospecting, a 1,000m-tunnel of 4.0m x 4.0 and 4.5 x 4.3 m between horizontal and inclined labors will be excavated, this tunnel will be used later for future access of the mine in the exploitation phase.
