Latest Information June 30, 2005 Discovery reverse circulation percussion drilling began on the property in late May 2005 to investigate known low-grade gold mineralization in rhyolite intrusions. The objective of this drilling program was to broadly determine the extent of the gold mineralized alteration system. Follow-up core drilling was anticipated in 2005–06. April 30, 2001 A scoping study and resource estimate was completed. The study indicated that with anticipated capital and operating costs and at current gold prices, the Antaña Project is economically marginal and return on investment was gold price sensitive. Significant project expenditures were considered viable only at higher gold prices. January 31, 2001 Preliminary assays were announced. The best assay was 1.46 g/t Au over 86 m, including 2.05 g/t Au over 46 m. Assay values ranged from 0.80 - 2.20 g/t Au over intercepts of 8 - 86 m in 16 holes. The drill program was designed to establish the depth and continuity of the rhyodacite-hosted surface mineralization defined by surface work. The rhyodacite was drill tested over a strike length of 250 m, with thicknesses ranging from 44 to 108 m. |
