Property NewsMarch 18, 2009 The first phase drill program was completed, testing the west-half of the Sayta Porphyry and part of the core area. The program consisted of nine diamond drill holes for a total of 3,034 metres, over an area of 850 x 700 metres. Results include 126m of 0.54% Cu (SAY-002), 34m of 0.48% Cu (SAY-004), and 48m of 1.09% Cu (SAY-005), among others. September 30, 2008 An induced polarization (IP) geophysical survey was completed and has commenced a 2,400 metre drilling program. June 30, 2007 Southwestern has commenced efforts to secure an access agreement with the local community, with an objective to either drill or seek a new partner for Antay once an access agreement has been reached. The option agreement with Anglo American Exploration Peru S.A. was terminated in July 2007, due to unsuccessful efforts to secure a community access agreement to the Sayta porphyry prospect, which is situated in the northern section of the Antay Project.
In the 2006 anuual report, the first phase drilling identified a second porphyry coppermolybdenum system.
