Latest Information September 30, 1998 The first phase of drilling was completed at La Petisa target and Arroyo Cascada working. Eleven reverse circulation drill holes totalling 1,645 m were completed. At the Arroyo Cascada workings, 9 angle holes confirmed the extension of the quartz-sulphide veins to depth, however, high grade found at surface was not identified in the drilling. The results from La Petisa confirmed the existence of low grade porphyry style gold mineralization extending under glacial cover. The results from La Petisa confirmed the existence of low grade porphyry style gold mineralization extending under glacial cover. December 31, 1997 Reconnaissance work had outlined mineralization in an area of quartz veins assaying up to 4.8 g/t gold in grab samples. During 1996, soil geochemical sampling, geologic mapping, induced polarization geophysical surveying were conducted and five holes totalling 1024 m were drilled. 1995 work was to focus on further mapping, sampling and possible drill testing. Early sampling discovered gold in surface samples in amounts up to 0.14 oz/ton. The gold values occur in an iron-stained structural zone that is 4 miles long and 0.3-2 miles wide. |
