September 1, 2009 Athena Resources reported to have completed a short first pass reverse circulation drilling program to test a series of geological and geophysical targets at Kooline lead field. The total program consisted of thirteen holes for 1150 metres. Ten holes tested targets associated with the lead workings and three holes tested targets at Lewis gold prospect. Assay results from select samples are expected in the next few weeks.
April 8, 2009 Announced that the company has lodged an application for an exploration licence (ELA08/1954) covering the eastern extension of the Kooline North gold anomaly. The company has obtained a copy of a database of previous stream sediment, soil, rock chip and drilling geochemistry on ELA08/1954. Six prospects have been identified on two mineralised trends. Three of the six prospects (True Grit, Sunken Treasure and Dook) have been partially tested by reverse circulation (RC) drilling. Highlights include hole DKRC06 (Dook prospect) intersecting 3.0 m @ 15.6 g/t Au.
July 29, 2008 Announced rock chip samples results in the Kooline area of the Ashburton project. Highlights include: 0.34 g/t gold, 375 g/t silver,
42.5% lead, 3.78% copper, and 0.60 g/t gold, 580 g/t silver, 29.9% lead, 2.07% copper.
