Latest Information July 31, 2004 Exploration crews began the Phase 1 program on the Sunshine Road project. The program, consisting of regional analysis, mapping, stripping and sampling was designed to follow up on historical work that included grab samples grading as high as 66.0 grams per tonne gold. Approximately 400 vein and wall rock samples were taken over the three week program. While geologically interesting, the results of the sampling did not meet the high grade gold samples encountered in the historical samples. Geologists are currently evaluating the potential for other areas of the Sunshine Road property. May 6, 1999 A four hole drilling program was recently carried out in the Dougherty Lake region of CanAlaska's Timmins Township Property. No significant mineralization was encountered. CanAlaska has also acquired an option to earn up to a 100% interest in 272 claim units in the Kenora Mining District, 18 miles southeast of Mine Centre, Ontario. The claims overlie magnetic highs in the Whalen Lake and Harnett Lake areas, and are believed to be prospective for copper, nickel, and platinum group metals |
