June 30, 2008 Reported to have produced 695,000 tonnes, totalling 3,208,000 tonnes for the year. Also, commenced the installation of the new longwall roof supports and conveyor pan-line, enabling a partial pre-installation on LW950, ahead of the recovery of the old longwall face that commenced in mid-June. Commissioning of the new longwall face is expected to be completed within days.
For the quarter ended March 2008, reported to have produced 754,942 tonnes. This quarter’s production is slightly lower than planned, with the mine having experienced the occasional small pocket of poorer geology on the longwall face.
