Asian Mineral Resources completed a geological mapping and sampling program covering the massive sulphide exposures in the underground access development excavated during 2008 at the Ban Phuc project in Vienam. Channel sampling of the ore-body on the 270m RL level has identified a zone within the massive sulphide mineralisation which exhibited consistent platinum enrichment on both the east (3.62g/t) and west (4.82g/t) walls of the cross cut.
Canadian-based junior miner Asian Mineral Resources Ltd. (TSXV:ASN) is indefinitely suspending work at its Ban Phuc nickel project in Vietnam, where it had hoped for a start-up next spring. (See Canadian Press:
Asian Mineral Resources suspends work on Vietnamese nickel mine

September 26, 2008
Announced that development activities on the company’s Ban Phuc nickel project will be suspended effective October 1, 2008. The company has been unable, as the result of a combination of factors, including current market conditions and uncertainties regarding Vietnamese government policies on nickel concentrate exports, export tariffs, royalties and taxes, to obtain commitments to provide the financing required for project completion so as to permit work to continue as scheduled.
