Drilling in 1996 and 1997, in the old Betts Cove Mine area, intersected several sections anomalous in copper, gold, and zinc, revealing the base and precious metal potential of the property. In 1996, grades of 0.38% Cu over 34.0 m, 0.32% Cu over 5.5 m, 0.66% Cu over 3.5 m, 0.40% Cu over 3.4 m as well as 2.29 g/t Au over 6.5 m, including intervals of 8.81 g/t Au and 0.43% Zn over 1.0 m and 4.01 g/t Au and 1.33% Zn over 1.5 m were obtained.
