It was reported that the property falls within the Buckton Creek/Ronald Lake candidate site recently selected for designation as a protected area under the Province's Special Places 2000 initiative. The proposal is for the preservation of an extensive regional corridor adjoining the Wood Buffalo National Park. All current and planned work at the property may be held in abeyance until such time as the future status of its property is clarified.
