The Bellsbank mine was still flooded. The new owner intended to build up the mine after
a full feasibility study is completed.
As of 2003 the treatment of the old tailing deposits at the Bellsbank mine was discontinued.

Bellsbank produced 6,763 carats (569 carats from fissure tonnes and 6,154 carats from tailings), from a total tonnage of 140,895 tonnes, thus giving a mining yield of 4.80 cpht (28.24 cpht for fissure production and 4.43 for tailings). Due to excessive rainfall and consequent underground flooding, the Bellsbank mine was placed on care and maintenance as of Jun/01. However, the plant is treating tailings at full plant capacity and a detailed future development plan has been prepared. This plan focuses on deepening of South Blow shaft with 3 additional levels and the continuous development to the north of South Blow. A detailed hydrogeological survey has been conducted on the property, with the results to be incorporated into the future development plans of the mine.
