Mincor Resources reported to have upgraded the potential of its operating Carnilya Hill mine, high-grade Ni sulphide intersections some 320m beyond the end of the current mineral resource. The new results are part of a still-ongoing and carefully planned series of drill traverses targeting the down-plunge potential at Carnilya Hill. Highlights includes from Hole CMD38W1 intersected 1.44m @ 5.58% Ni from 744.53m downhole and CMD38W2 returned 1.09m @ 5.90% Ni from a depth of 748.38m
Mincor announced exploration drilling at Carnilya Hill during the quarter ended March, 2009, tested the area immediately down-plunge of the main BO1C ore body, with modest results, and the area down-dip of the BO1C ore body, with more success. The down-plunge drilling comprised four holes, two of which returned the following:
• CUD0053: 3.37 metres @ 1.83% nickel (true width 1.24 metres); and
A program of five drill holes was completed during the quarter, testing this down-dip area for extensions to the BO1C ore body. Better results included:
• CUD0063: 2.77 metres @ 5.62% nickel (true thickness 2.44 metres); and CUD0061: 1.47 metres @ 6.01% nickel (true thickness 1.06 metres) and 0.68 metres @ 15.8% nickel (true thickness 0.50 metres).
