A major expansion project was completed three-months ahead of schedule which will make Cerro Matoso ultimately become the largest ferronickel producer in the world. The first new ferronickel was produced from the second production line at Cerro Matoso on Jan 01/01. Commissioning activity and production ramp-up was to continue, with full production expected to be achieved on a sustainable basis within 18 months.
