February 24, 2011
GOLDCORP INC. released study results for the Company’s two major Canadian gold projects, Éléonore in Quebec and Cochenour in Red Lake, Ontario, and the approval of fullscale development of both projects by Goldcorp’s Board of Directors.
February 27, 2007
Announced results from drilling phase I at the project. Highlighted results included 17.00 gpt gold over 0.60m, 16.35 gpt over 0.45m, 13.89 gpt over 0.60, 10.90 gpt Au over 0.60m, 9.55 gpt Au over 0.50m, 8.42 gpt over 0.67m, 8.12 gpt over 0.45m, 6.66 gpt over 0.50m, 6.11 gpt Au over 0.50m, 3.79 gpt Au over 0.50m and others in the table below. On October 30th, 2006, announced the results that it obtained from the first twelve drill holes. Highlights of this Phase 1 diamond drilling program include: 17.00 gpt Au over 0.60m, 16.35 gpt over 0.45m, 13.89 gpt over 0.60m, 10.90 gpt Au over 0.60m, 9.55 gpt Au over 0.50m, 8.42 gpt over 0.67m, 8.12 gpt over 0.45m, 6.66 gpt over 0.50m, 6.11 gpt Au over 0.50m, 3.79 gpt Au over 0.50m and others in the table below. On June 19th, 2006, announced that Phase I of a $1,250,000 exploration program, including an aggressive diamond drill program, was now officially underway on the Rowan Lake gold project. The drilling program was delayed to this date because of a decision to drill the “North Rock” area claims first, which needed some assessment work done in order to keep those claims in good standing. In 2002, further targets will be drill tested. A remediation program for historic crown pillars had been initiated. In 2001, a 20 hole, 42,125 feet drill program on the eastern and northeastern portion of the Cochenour Mine Property was completed. The area tested targets that had been generated based on the geophysical survey completed over the Cochenour Mine from 1998 through 2000, historical data compilation and soil geochemical surveys conducted in 2000. In total, nine of the 20 holes returned significant gold assays, with some of the best assays being: 1.45 opt over 3.3 feet; 1.50 opt over 0.8 feet; 0.47 opt over 1.5 feet; and 0.43 opt over 3.5 feet. Exploration was conducted on the Cochenour Mine property and the adjacent Abino prospect, located north of the Cochenour property. In 2001, a 33 hole 52,493 feet program was completed on the Abino prospect, located north of the Cochenour Mine property. Some of the best assays from the 2001 Abino prospect drilling were: 18.11 opt over 2.5 feet; 2.97 opt over 0.7 feet; 2.92 opt over 4.9 feet; 0.22 opt over 25.7 feet; 0.46 opt over 23.0 feet; and 0.47 opt over 9.8 feet. Also in 2001, drilling was also conducted on the Rowan, Martin Bay, Slate Bay, Forsyth, and Gullrock properties (all assumed to be located contiguous, or located in, the Cochenour property(?). Goldcorp retained a contractor to complete a multiscale wavelet edge analysis of magnetics and gravity data for Goldcorp’s Red Lake properties.
December 31, 2000
A two-year exploration program including geophysics and mobile metal ion soil geochemical surveys on the eastern portion of the property were completed. In 1999, 9 holes (8,228 feet) were drilled to test ore projections within the northwestern arm of the Cochenour ore trend. In general, assay results were disappointing. The better assays include 0.12 opt over 3.0 feet and 0.11 opt over 2.3 feet. The exploration effort also included trenching, mapping, soil geochemistry test and compilation of historical data. A regional airborne magnetometer/ horizontal loop EM/radiometric survey was completed in Jan/99. Geophysical compilation was initiated in Aug/99 and is continuing in 2000.
