Received final approval for the Con Mine closure and reclamation plan in April 2007 which will permit the Company to conduct final reclamation activities in subsequent periods.

Miramar Mining has successfully re-started the autoclave at the Con mine as part of its ongoing reclamation activity at the mine in Yellowknife, Canada. The autoclave will process all of the remaining arsenic bearing sludges and calcines left on site from historic roaster operations prior to Miramar's ownership of the mine, reports International Mining.

The company is in the process of reclaiming the mine. Over the next two years the Company expects to spend $6 million on Con Mine reclamation costs from working capital. Subsequent costs may be funded using the proceeds in the Con Mine trusts (totalling $10.5) if release criteria are agreed to with regulatory authorities. In 2004, the company determined that gold production was no longer economically viable at its Con mine and terminated all mining activities.During the first six months of 2005, the company commenced reclamation activities at the Con Mine.(Aug/05).
