Latest Information
June 30, 2008
Reported to have produced 426,000 tonnes, 15% higher than the prior corresponding period and 11% higher than the previous quarter. This continues a trend of overall improvement in performance, with production benefiting from a more favourable mining environment in the 700-Area and partial pillar extraction in the 600-Area. For the quarter ended March 2008, announced that the mine had produced a 382,000 tonnes, 19% higher than the prior corresponding period and 27% higher than the previous quarter. Production has benefited from the anticipated generally more favourable mining environment and the successful commissioning of conveyors and infrastructure in the 700-Area (near pit-bottom), resulting in improved availability of infrastructure and significantly improved installation and maintenance standards in the 600-Area.
