Colquijirca Mine

On Apr24/12, affiliated workers to Union of GyM-Stracon SA, company that realizes mining activities on the north pit, have stopped its operations. Strike is due to salary requirements.

As of Apr/12, Peruvian Mining Ministry approved the operation of 7 components for extension of plant throughput from 7,490 tpd to 11,235 tpd.

During 2011, Sales increased 20% and net profits surpassed by 25% the sales, additionally the company reached an increase on its production thanks to higher volume of processing on plant (at this date on 10,000 tpd). Also, sales improved due to higher contribution of copper on total sales, and higher silver content on copper, lead and zinc concentrates. The company continues the advance on the expansion of concentrator plant to 18,000 tpd to be reached by 2013.
