As of Dec/09, Grupo Mexico announced that the expansion of the concentrator at Cuajone will increase the mining and milling capacity, accelerating production, to increase annual copper production by approximately 50,000 tons.

A total of $31.6 million to purchase a 73 cubic yard shovel, a mine drill and three 320 ton trucks was alloted. Contract have been made for feasibility study and will be continuing with the engineering and procurement process. The environmental impact assessment is also underway.
