The company announced, "Recently, most of the areas in southern part of People's Republic of China experience persistent low temperature, rain storm and snowfall and there is a failure in the electricity supply network of Jiangxi and the land transportation is affected. Since 2 February 2008, there is a material impact on the production of Jiangxi Copper Company Limited (the "Company"). Apart from Yongping copper mine, the whole or at least half of the production activities of the copper mines of the Company in Jiangxi Province have ceased. The copper smelting factory of the Company can only maintain 60%-70% level of production. Other
copper processing enterprises are also under limited production condition. It is expected that the production volume of our Company in the quarter will, to certain extent, be affected."
