West Wits Mining announced assay results from its Phase 2 follow-up drilling program focused on the company’s Marquise target, located on the Durban Roodepoort Deep (DRD) Lease located in South Africa. Significant intercepts include 0.5 meters grading 8.27 g/t gold from 3.0 meters in hole DRDKD003 and 1.5 meters grading 3.36 g/t gold from 17.23 meters in hole DRDKD008.
Received all the gold assay results from its Phase 2 follow-up drilling program focused
on the Marquise Target. The objective of this Phase 2 program was to further validate the potential for near surface gold mineralisation of the reef with the view to taking advantage of any smaller scale open cut mining opportunities. Significant intercepts include:
- 1m @ 4.51g/t Au from 53.21m (DRDKD004) (incl. 0.5m @ 8.1g/t Au from 53.21m)
- 0.5m @ 8.27g/t Au from 3m (DRDKD003)

The Marquise target assay results and umpire check assays are currently being received. A JORC compliant resource estimation is being prepared and is expected to be completed by late December 2008 to January 2009. Upon completion of the resource estimate, an economic scoping study is expected to commence in late January/February 2009.
