Great Basin incurred a loss of $0.02 per share for the quarter, compared to $0.03 per share for the quarter ended December 31, 2009. The Esmeralda Mill recovered 12,533 AuEq ounces, of which 6,109 AuEq ounces were sold, generating revenue of $6.8 million. Total tons extracted through trial mining activities at Hollister increased by 53% over the fourth quarter of 2009. A total of 25,777 tons of ore grading 1.07 AuEq ounces1 per ton or 36.6 g/t and containing 27,707 AuEq ounces was extracted during the quarter, compared to 16,785 tons containing 20,660 AuEq ounces in the previous quarter.

Great Basin Gold announced that it has completed the refurbishment of the Esmeralda Mill in Nevada, USA. The Esmeralda Mill will process material extracted from the Hollister gold project at which trial mining is currently underway.
