The company formed the Panamanian wholly-owned subsidiary named Calais Resource Panama. Personnel were hired to commence work on the property with a small scale placer operation. The lease agreement required the company to expand into hard rock exploration in 2004, and have committed to a $250,000 initial hard rock exploration budget during calendar year 2004.

A new building will be constructed to house the phase one of mining operations.
