Latest Information

The best results of the 2008 exploration program at Flin-D were encountered in the Gifford Bay area over a prospective area outlined through compilation and field work during the summer of 2007. The area covers a mineralized and strongly altered zone discovered on the shores of Gifford Bay with a strike length of nearly 1,000 metres along with massive sulphide mineralization occurrences returning over 1.52% copper in grab samples. An old drill hole is also reported in the area, which returned 1.32% zinc and 0.38% copper over 0.93 metres. The geophysical survey identified a northerly trending conductor varying from steeply easterly dipping in the southern part of the grid to shallowly easterly dipping in the northern part of the grid. The change in dip reflects the folding that was identified during the summer 2007 field work. The top of this conductor generally starts around 200 metres below the surface. Two boreholes tested this conductor in April 2008 and intersected semi-massive to disseminated sulphide mineralization in very prospective and altered rock types. To date, encouraging drilling results include: • 1.07% Cu and 13.3 g/t Ag over 0.61 metre • 1.00% Zn and 4.43 g/t Ag over 1.71 meters and • 0.40% Cu, 2.87% Zn and 5.40 g/t Ag over 0.80 metres.
