Property NewsDecember 31, 2009 As of Dec/09, Francisco I. Madero, one of Mexico’s largest zinc mines, produced 25.4% of Peñoles’s total zinc contents in 2009, or 47,169 tons, similar to last year’s figure. Lead content production rose 4.6% over 2008 due to better ore grades and recoveries, and represented 17.8% of Peñoles’s total lead contents. Copper production rose to record levels for the second consecutive year due to better recoveries following the startup of the lead-copper separation plant last year. To support operating continuity and define new ore bodies, 13,140 meters of diamond drilling took place. Capex: US$5.8 million, Reserves increased 18.8%. December 31, 2006 Extensive drilling near the mine added five mllion tons of mineral resources, and identified a new zonewith potential for a further five million tons. December 31, 2005 The mine produced 30.9% of Peñoles’s total zinc contents in 2005, with 65,498 tons. While this figure was unchanged from the year before, higher ore grades and greater recovery increased both silver and lead contents, to 1.4 million ounces, up 24.8%, and 8,914 tons, up 103.0% respectively from the previous year.
