An early phase of regional mapping and rock chip sampling covered an area of about 1,000,000 ha. The program was directed towards the follow-up of anomalous gold, gold-platinum-palladium and copper-gold ocurences identified by previous tenement holders. The program confirmed the presence of a strong gold-platinum-palladium-copper association with the florence creek shear zone.

230 RAB holes were completed. The first 108 did not encounter significant mineralization.

A program of soil sampling and rock chip sampling along 800 m spaced lines to the southeast of the Kongo grid area led to the discovery of a further three prospects. The sampling lines covered two known copper occurrences, one of which, the Copper Queen, 4 km to the southeast of Kongo, returned consistent gold values over 400 m strike of a skarn-like vein. A single rockchip sample from the east end of the vein assayed 4.7 g/t Au, 14.7 g/t Pt, 1.3 g/t Pd and 12.5% Cu, and other samples nearby assayed 72 g/t, 24.3 g/t, 14.5 g/t and 14.3 g/t Au. A total of 12 soil sampling lines have been completed over the Kongo prospect, and assay results are expected shortly. Prospecting along the soil lines led to the immediate identification of malachite staining in quartz-carbonate veins associated with amphibolite units. Drill testing for the Kongo and King prospects are planned. Further regional mapping and sampling programs are planned along the Florence Creek Shear Zone.
