Fresnillo announced the production for the three months ended 30 June 2010. Highlights include: Second quarter silver production of 9.6m oz which achieved record levels when compared to same period of previous years. In addition, the quarterly gold production achieved a new record high at 91,254 ounces, a 33.9% increase over the corresponding period last year.

Newmont Mining reports on La Herradura operations for the quarter ended Jun30/09. Gold ounces sold increased 24% in second quarter of 2009 from 2008, primarily due to a 16% increase in tons placed on the leach pad, partially offset by a 5% decrease in grade. Costs applicable to sales increased 2% due to higher workers participation costs, partially offset by lower diesel costs.

Fresnillo PLC has reported its production for the three months ended June 30, 2009. Quarterly attributable silver production increased by 6.7% and 4.0% respectively when compared to the second quarter 2008 and to the first quarter 2009, which is a record for the quarter. The higher quarterly production was a result of an increase in ore milled at the Fresnillo due to a more efficient maintenance programme, and higher ore grades at Ciénega and Herradura. In May, additional ore extracted from the development works at Saucito were processed at the Fresnillo mill, which contributed approximately 67,000 silver ounces.
