Lab results from a single trench sample weighing 3.8 tonnes obtained from one of the exposed kimberlite intrusives, the Bonus pipe recovered no stones in the +0.5 mm to 6.0 mm range through dense media separation however the concentrate will be processed by caustic fusion for microdiamond recovery. Drillcore from the property is currently being processed for microdiamond analysis by caustic fusion and results are expected soon.

Skeena has received results from dense media separation analyses on kimberlite from its Ice property in southeastern B.C. A single trench sample weighing 3.8 tonnes obtained from one of the exposed kimberlite intrusives of the Bonus Pipe yielded no stones in the +0.5 mm to 6.0 mm range through dense media separation. The concentrate, however, will be processed by caustic fusion for microdiamond recovery. Drillcore from the Ice property RAM-5 and RAM-6 kimberlite pipes is currently being processed for microdiamond analysis by caustic fusion and results are also expected soon.

Drilling commenced. Fieldwork is being directed at three exposed kimberlite pipes discovered in the mid-1990s but not previously drilled. Surface sampling of weathered material has previously yielded eight macrodiamonds. The largest stone was approximately 0.185 of a carat (approximately 4 X 3 X 2 mm). A 4 tonne mini-bulk sample was collected from the Bonus kimberlite. A geochemical sampling program to follow-up positive indicator mineral anomalies previously obtained from stream sediment was planned for Jul/00.
