Consolidated Silver Tusk Mines announced that the civil case between the company and its Indonesian partners regarding its mineral operations agreement was concluded in its favour in April and an appeal process has been launched by the defendants. The district court of Tanjung Karang concluded that the mineral operations agreement dated November 1999, between Consolidated Silver Tusk. P.T. Karya Bukit Utama; P.T. Gading Emas Minerind; and PT Metro Astatama was valid and binding. Consolidated Silver Tusk is now proceeding with a criminal case against the defendants which in order to proceed may require the company to sell some of its assets.
Consolidated Silver Tusk has received written approval from the Department of Mines and Energy, The Directorate General of Public Mining and The Directorate of Public Mining Engineering in Indonesia, for its proposed open pit mining plan designed for the KBU gold, silver and manganese project in Sumatra.
