A 9 hole, 1,824 m reverse circulation drilling program, designed to test for new areas of mineralization, was completed. Wide sections from 14 - 80 m in length of anomalous gold values up to 0.5 g/t gold were intersected. Hole RC98IR42, the only hole to be drilled within an existing zone, could not be completed due to drilling problems and bottomed at 142 m in the mineralized zone in material grading 4.0 g/t gold. In early/98, a drill program confirmed the continuity of mineralization within the San Antonio and Huayna Potosi zones. DDIR39 intersected 72.3 m grading 1.09 g/t Au and DDIR41 intersected 55.05 m grading 1.16 g/t Au. In mid-96, 2 diamond drill holes totalling 428 m were completed. The first hole (DD961R29) was drilled in the San Antonio zone and intersected 115.4 m grading 1.08 g/t gold. The second hole, drilled in the northern extension of the Huayna Potosi zone intersected diamictites that were weakly anomalous in gold.

Reported second phase RC drilling consisting of 16 holes totalling 2,462m and tested the San Gerardo zone, the northern extensions of the San Antonio zone, and adjacent areas. Previous exploration included programs of geologic mapping, surface sampling, ground magnetics, reverse circulation and diamond drilling. Previous exploration defined 3 subparallel zones of gold mineralization upto 100 m wide along a strike lenght of 1,400 m.
