November 2, 2010 Straits Asia Resources announced its results for Q3 2010. Highlights include: In the Q3 of the year 2010 the company has consolidated the improvement of Q2 with a net profit of $23.22 million and cost reductions continued in Q3 and there were improvements in key margins compared to Q2 2010.
August 16, 2010 Straits Asia Resources announced its results for the second quarter 2010. Highlights include: NPAT of $23.24 million, an increase of $12.04 million over Q1; total coal production at its Jembayan and Sebuku mines of 2,664,000 tonnes.
October 8, 2009 Straits Asia Resources reported that after several days of continuous rain, there has been a significant erosion along the Mahakam River foreshore at the end of the new load out facility at Straits Asia’s Jembayan mine. As a consequence there has been a failure of the foundation structure under this facility. The extent and impact of this failure on the future operation of the new load out facility is currently being investigated. However, it is clear that no further loading will be possible from this facility at least for some time.
