February 28, 2011 Midlands Minerals Corporation announced that the potential to increase the ounces of gold on Sian has been significantly increased as a result of reinterpretation of geological structures on Sian and Kwahu Praso Projects located in Ghana.
April 28, 2010 Midlands Minerals reported to have completed 5,250m of the 20,000m planned drilling on Sian and Praso in Ghana. Altered andesite with pyrite returned values of up to 6.3 g/t gold over 4m in Hole MERC 079, and rhyolite with elevated percentages of pyrite returned up to 4.98 g/t gold over a metre in Hole MERC 077.
February 1, 2010 Midlands Minerals announced it has closed the first tranche of its financing previously announced January 22, 2010. The financing raised CAN$4,598,868 gross proceeds by issuing 13,139,624 units at CAN$0.35 per unit. The proceeds will be used to accelerate exploration on the Sian and Kwahu Praso properties located on the Ashanti Gold Belt, and Kaniago project located on the Asankrangwa Gold Belt, Ghana, and for general corporate purposes.
