SouthernEra conducted a high resolution, 25 m line spaced magnetometer survey of the entire claim block, particularly focusing on the Diavik diamond mine kimberlite emplacement trend. This survey was only partially completed in 2006 due to early lake-ice break-up conditions resulting from unseasonably warm weather. The survey is expected to be completed in 2007.

Within the Lac de Gras X-Claims project seven kimberlite pipes have been discovered to date, of which five are diamondiferous. The primary kimberlite sources to kimberlitic indicator mineral trains defined on the property have not yet been discovered. In 2005, eight ground geophysical grids for a total of 58.48 line-km were surveyed.

Discovered a new diamondiferous kimberlite and microdiamond results. To date, six kimberlite pipes have been discovered at the X Claims Project of which four are diamondiferous. SouthernEra will continue to focus on locating the kimberlite pipe sources to the unexplained indicator mineral trains previously defined by sonic and reverse circulation drilling at the Lac de Gras Project. Ten selected airborne targets will be tested during the upcoming winter season with ground geophysics followed by drill testing of positive targets. Based on the overall diamond results no further testing of pipes EG-01B and EG-02 is warranted at this time. During winter 2004, a successful 824.7 meter diamond drilling program was initiated to test 17 high interest airborne targets and to retest a known kimberlite pipe, EG02. The diamond-drilling program resulted in the discovery of one new kimberlite pipe, EG-01B. Kimberlite was intersected in drill hole LDG04-05, an -90º hole, from 23.40 meters to 74.70 meters. One previously known pipe, EG02, was re-drilled and intersected from 14.30 meters to 87.30 meters in drill hole LDG04-09, an -90º hole. Representative kimberlite samples totaling about 133 kilograms were sent for micro-diamond processing to the Saskatchewan Research Council. EG-018 returned 1 microdiamond from 41.6 kg of sample. EG-02 returned 14 microdiamonds from 71.55 kg of sample.
