Property NewsFebruary 25, 2010 Newmont Mining says the surface exploration program at the Greater Leeville-Turf area in Nevada has extended gold mineralization well beyond known mineralization. Early results from both surface and underground exploration programs suggest significant potential for resource expansion, with recent surface gold intercepts including CGX-24 with 32 feet at 0.7 ounces per ton and CGX-12 with 151 feet at 0.6 ounces per ton, all accessible by extensions of current underground infrastructure. Newmont expects to spend approximately $75 to $85 million on advanced project development and near mine exploration in 2010 in Nevada, excluding capital. March 31, 2009 Newmont reported on it's Leeville operations for the quarter ended Mar31/09. Underground ore mined at all Newmon't Nevada operations in the first quarter of 2009 increased to 629,000 tons, up from 526,000 tons in the first quarter of 2008. This increase was partly due to 34% higher tons at Leeville. Underground ore grade decreased 12% in the first quarter of 2009 from 2008 primarily due to lower grade at Leeville. First quarter ore milled was 6.1 million tons in 2009 compared to 6.2 million tons in 2008. December 31, 2006 The Leeville (underground) continues to ramp up to full production.
