Latest Information August 31, 2000 A phase two exploration program was anounced. Exploration on the Evita property discovered silver/gold mineralization hosted in brecciated and stockwork silicified sandstones similar to Luicho. Several adits were observed over a vertical distance of 150 metres. Sampling of these adits and tunnels was planned in conjunction with the trenching program at Luicho. Previous chip sample results at Evita included 3 metres of 0.6 g/t gold / 928 g/t silver, 2.6 metres of 7.2 g/t gold / 998 g/t silver and 2 metres of 0.3 g/t gold / 1,465 g/t silver. August 17, 2000 Southwestern Gold Corp. announced that a Phase Two exploration program will commence on the company's wholly-owned Luicho and Evita properties located about 170 km northeast of Arequipa within the southern Peru epithermal gold belt. The northern extension of the Luicho Gold Zone is covered by overburden and a major trenching program will be initiated immediately to test this area. At the Evita property, 7 km north of Luicho, silver/gold mineralization was discovered hosted in brecciated and stockwork silicified sandstones similar to Luicho. Several adits were observed over a vertical distance of 150 m. Sampling of these adits and tunnels will be conducted in conjunction with the trenching program at Luicho. |
