December 31, 2008 During the year ended reported a total of 13,900 metres of resource definition drilling was completed in 2008. Drilling was also carried out to provide material for a bulk sample. This sample was treated at a research facility in Minnesota to produce nine tonnes of copper-nickel concentrate which was delivered to our CESL test facility. This sample is being processed through the hydrometallurgical pilot plant at CESL to assess the feasibility of treatment for the production of copper and nickel.
December 31, 2007 The 2008 program will involve extensive resource definition drilling, ore characterization and metallurgy. Concentrate will be prepared from bulk ore samples for pilot-scale CESL test work. Mesaba mineralization presents metallurgical challenges for conventional concentrate production, but previous
work suggests that the proprietary CESL process could be an effective treatment for low grade bulk copper-nickel
June 30, 2001 A 5000-tonne bulk sample of the Mesaba ore has been taken and is being processed to produce concentrate for testing in the CESL pilot plant in Vancouver.
In th 1970s and 1980s, the property was extensively explored with no result in development due to the complexity of the ore and low metal prices.
