December 11, 2002 Mexican mining and metals conglomerate Grupo Mexico is expected to make a decision late this year or early next on whether to close its Mission copper mine in the US, according to BNamericas, which cites Chilean business daily Estrategia as source. Mission's current annual production of 50,00 tonnes represents 5% of Grupo Mexico's total output, international affairs VP Juan Rebolledo Gout was quoted as saying.
